Julie Balog CCR

When did you start teaching at CCR and how did you end up here?
Hello, and nice to meet you! My name is Julie Balog. I have been an instructor with CCR for 26 years! I have a BA in English from Indiana University, and I am currently teaching English C110 and some of  the higher speed building classes onsite, although I have taught almost all speeds and most of the academics over the last quarter century as well! I work part time at CCR,  and I am also a voice captioner at home for Caption Colorado. My job captioning includes voicing federal govt. meetings (including the White House!), CART reporting for students of all ages, and financial quarterly earnings calls for large companies. I love what I do!

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
My job has to be one of the best in the world. I not only get to be a small part of my students' successes as reporters and captioners, but I get to be a voice for that community as well as a captioner! Every day in my job as both a teacher and captioner, I get to see firsthand how our skills are used and how they are very much needed in our community and world!

What do you want people to know about Court Reporting?
The College of Court Reporting is really a great place to work and to be a student. We have a highly motivated and very knowledgeable team of people who are always here to listen and help our students reach their goals.

Feel free to reach out to me if you ever need anything!
